Planning a tattoo during your Bali trip and wondering what it will cost? At Sunset Ink Canggu we keep pricing simple and transparent. This guide explains exactly how we price a tattoo, what our minimum is, how deposits work, and how to get an accurate quote before you sit in the chair.
We price per piece, not per hour
Every tattoo at Sunset Ink is quoted per piece. You will never watch the clock or worry that a slower section is costing you more. Once your design and size are agreed, the price is the price.
Your quote depends on three things:
- Size – a palm-sized piece takes far less time than a half sleeve.
- Complexity – fine detail, shading, realism and colour packing all add work.
- The artist – our team covers fine line, realism, Japanese, colour, blackwork and more, and each artist’s experience is reflected in the quote.
Our minimum price: IDR 1.5 million
Small tattoos start at IDR 1,500,000. This covers designs that are 5 × 5 cm or smaller with minimal detail.
Here is the good news for small-tattoo lovers: you can get 2–3 small tattoos for the same IDR 1.5 million, as long as each one stays within the size and detail guideline. Perfect for matching tattoos with a friend, or a little collection of fine-line symbols.
Deposits and booking
To lock in your appointment we take a 40% deposit of the total booking fee (minimum IDR 500k). The deposit is deducted from your final price on the day.
- Deposits are non-refundable, but within three months they can be reassigned to a friend or family member.
- Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or transfer a deposit.
- Cancelling within 48 hours, or not attending, means the deposit may be kept.
How to pay
We accept cash in Indonesian Rupiah, plus Visa and Mastercard. If you are paying cash, it’s worth visiting an ATM before your session.
Free touch-ups included
We offer complimentary touch-ups within the first two months after your session, as long as you use our recommended aftercare products and follow the aftercare instructions. That’s part of the value of getting tattooed with a studio that stands behind its work.

Tips for an accurate quote
- Share reference images and tell us what you love about them.
- Give us an approximate size in centimetres and the placement on your body.
- Mention if you want colour or black and grey.
- Tell us your travel dates so we can match you with the right artist in time.
